Anyone ever play in the pit for Beauty and the Beast? A school where I conduct the pit orch for their shows is considering doing it next year. i searched online and could not come up with a list of instruments for the pit.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are doing Brigadoon this weekend. Nice book for strings and WW and horn, very pretty music, cornball story but very nice music.

If I remember right, for brass there is horn, trumpet, and a Trombone/Tuba book. I know there is also the regular woodwinds (Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Possibly Oboe/English Horn). and of course, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass.
Its been a few years since Ive played in it, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but thats what I remember.

3 versions over here in UK. The latest "credit crunch" one hasn't even got trombone and is 9 piece. Last one had 1 trom, 1 trumpet, 1 horn. Original is 3,3, 2 I think.
Can check if you're desperate?

This is most likely the version you are doing. Click on the materials tab half-way down the page and that will give you the instrumentation. It has both the standard and alternate instrumentation.

Happy to help. Sometimes being married to a theater teacher has its advantages.
