I don't have that piece, and I can check stores tomorrow to see if one has it, but I believe that the IMSLP can help.

The famous "Liebstraum" is the third nocturne of the "Liebsträume" (S.541/3), and that one begins on page 16 of the first edition, page 12 of the Beving edition, and page 12 of the von Sauer edition.
What your cousin's son can do is print out one of these piano scores for the piece and practice the melody line and do his best to "make it work". I do not know what Gaspar Cassado's 'cello edition is like at all, but practicing the original piano score is a lot better than waiting. I'd say that the 'cello-specific edition would not be necessary for a performance, but that's just my hunch.
I did this very thing with a Gershwin prelude a few months ago and felt just fine reading from the piano score. I understand, though, that your cousin's son may not be as comfortable. If needed, I'd be willing to write out the melody of this piece for the 'cello for him.
I hope that you all find a solution to this. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt, bloke.
