Kinda Sorta.

The device itself is a wifi adapter.....that happens to have an external antenna (as opposed to no exposed antennas on laptops). In other words, you will want to disable your built-in wifi adapter when you use this thing. The product you linked is a 802.11G device which means it can not reach the same speeds you would get from an 802.11N device.

Since laptops by design are for portability, I wouldn't want to add bulk to my laptop to get my signal. Instead, I would add a "repeater" or additional access point close to the outdoors. Most AP/repeaters have antennas that you can remove and replace with larger ones. You may want to look into a directional antenna that essentially aims your signal at a specific location.
