Edit:
Booking out trip to Berlin this week. Any good tuba stuff in the city that I have to see?
Will be trying to see the Berlin Philharmonic while we're there too!

Okay, took me an extra week to book our trip, but officially going to Berlin for a week in mid-December.
Any must-see tuba "stuff" (performances, music shops, etc...)?

Isn't the Gronitz factory around there?

They're in Hamburg. About 3 hours by car, so a little less by train. Probably a little far for a day-trip though I'll never be closer!

If I were going to Germany, I'd stop in Mainz to play some Alexanders, go to Hamburg to play Gronitz horns, visit Markus Theinhart and make a pilgrimage to the B&S factory. THEN, I 'd head to Switzerland to Hirsbrunner & go meet Willi Kurath. If I were going... Oh, yeah. I go hear the Berlin Phil!

Definitely going to see the Berlin Phil. Might not get to do the tuba tour of Germany, not on this trip at least.
Any good music stores in the city?
