I've seen a couple in action - not that one, didn't notice the make but clearly high quality instruments, both the same. They get quite a sound. If one showed up on my doorstep, I wouldn't mail it back, but the diatonic thing isn't for me so much.schlepporello wrote: Laugh now.

Well, that picture was attached to a $1600 price tag. They're not all that expensive - most are more expensive, I believe. Rumor has it that behind each of those those ports on the left side, there really is a tiny little helical horn, that amplifies the excessively big bass reeds on these guys.schlepporello wrote: Yep, a local pawn shop had a few similar to the one you pictured that they were selling for $120 at the time.
