Continental Airlines is no more...

I've been looking for a day job for the past few days. Yesterday, I sat out in a grass field and noticed quite a few airplanes leaving A.B. Won Pat International Airport. I would hardly notice except the airplanes that used to have "Continental Airlines" painted on the sides now had "UNITED". Continental is the "home town" airline for Guam. I live not far from the main Continental ticket office in Tamuning. The sign on the building there still says Continental Airlines. But soon it too will say UNITED.
A friend of mine who works for Continental/United says that because the Guam airport has so few flights during the day, they sent most of the Continental planes here to get the UNITED markings. They still have the Continental tail design. As for the United planes getting painted up with the Continental tail design, those were sent to Honolulu. They painted more than 30 planes here yesterday alone.
Now my question is: Will they combine my Continental One Pass miles with my United Frequent Flyer miles?

My understanding is yes. The big question is whether they stay good forever or have an expiration date. I'm not sure if they are going to keep Continental or United's policy on that. I know it was being discussed as of a couple weeks ago.

I'd like to combine them. I got the United frequent flyer miles for going to Vietnam. The Continental frequent flyer miles were for coming here from Manila.

Didn't this merger happen a while ago? Have you called the airline yet? I'm sure you are not alone, and they should be able to get you set pretty quickly.

Good memories. I rode an old Continental DC 6 from my hometown to Chicago on the way to my Army assignment in South Korea. Flew Military stand-by. (free). Question to Young service musicians? Does military standby(free) status still exist?
