Share your pets

Post by clunkertruck »

Now, we all know of the therapy value of music-- The universal language--
Able to"sooth the savage beast"-- But the "beasts" themselves are also known to
provide their human counterparts with things considered valuable-- I'd like for
you to share, if you would, your favorite pets--(family-kids-children-brats or whatever else
you call them provided they are not of the same species)- I'll start with a few members of
our family we keep in the back yard-- And they DO like tuba music!!

That one I've named "Bloke"-

Good idea! Who doesn't love pets?

What are those guys?? They're enormous! Elk? (sorry..... city girl here!)

Here's a funny picture of my (dearly departed) cat Marcie checking out my mom's goldfish, Barbara. Barbara has outlived Marcie, and is over 8 years old now!

Image

This is Peppermint Patty, AKA Pepper. She's a blue heeler mix, and doesn't usually wear hand-knitted converse.

Image

And finally, here's Woodstock, AKA Woody. Notice a naming theme? (HINT: We've also had a Lucy and a Schroeder... Barbara is the anomaly and doesn't follow the trend..)

Image

I love my pets!!!

Yea Katie, rocky mountain Elk-- During their mating season, the bulls "bugle" -- It's a sound not easily forgotten once heard-- They are, however, not so "nice" as your friends seem to be-- sorry to hear bout your Marcie-- It's tough to lose a friend :(

Way too many former pets to even try to list them all, but currently we have three cats. The two grays were rescues.

We have two cats, Roxy (Roxanne) and Sammy (Samantha). I've talked about Roxy's medical troubles in the past here, but she had both her eyes removed about a month after we got her, and is completely blind, which you wouldn't realize if you saw the way she struts around this place. She is just about the sweetest, most affectionate cat I've ever met.

Image

Sammy is a little scaredy cat, but has become more friendly and affectionate in the time we've had her. She lets us pet her now, and will even sit in my lap sometimes.

Image

They get along well, and love each other's company.

Thanks! He's really mellow and, if I'm lying in bed reading, will even fall asleep on me.

bloke "Why not simply entitle the thread, 'I would like to show you our elk.' " ?[/quote]

1: Because I am also curious as to what animals other members are interested in regardless as to what others might assume--

2: I am free to entitle a thread as I choose as long as I keep to board guidlines--

3: I am now disregarding this comment as per author's own instructions-- Thank you :!:

You haven't been around tubenet long enough to understand my coarse sense of humor (c. 60-grit).
In this instance, more like 20.

I hope bloke has had the Badger and wolverine spayed or neutered, These varmits can really multiply if allowed to roam the neighborhood. Joe, SPCA has a free clinic in most cities to get this done.

Oh yes, B.M. , I'm a very responsible badger/wolverine owner indeed, and - in fact - am a lifetime member of *NBFBOW. When I was a little kid (growing up in East McKeesport...no, not the one in Pennsylvania...the one in Mississippi near Two Branches) we all lived in a two-bedroom second-story no-air-conditioning apartment, and at night the badgerwauling of the feral badgers out in the alley below made it nearly impossible to sleep.

Now I wish you hadn't been so d--- responsible------------------------------I would have liked to have had the pick of the litter---------The brides birthday is coming up soon. Any good kennels in your area???

I'm surprised, I would have thought the tuba player's cichlid would be the mighty Oscar! (South American, I believe.)
