'splain to me, please
With 36,000,000 people in California, how come we can't get a White Castle?

Government doesn't want to subject 36,000,000 people to such a grave health hazard?

10 million only eat free range, grass fed, happy steers
6 million won't eat red meat
4.9+ million Hindus
That pretty much leaves you and me, and I just got back from In-n-Out.

I'm with Tony and Robert. White Castle rocks, no matter what they make the burgers with.
Unfortunately, my beloved North Carolina is devoid of the magic of WC.

Not only the superior In-n-Out Urge, but we are starting to get some Five Guys around Cali.
Let the battle begin.
I had a White Castle once - never again!

I personally don't think you're missing much! We have one here and the only thing I'll buy there is the chicken sandwich.
Their main meat processing plant is about an hour and a half from here. One of the 'meanest' automation jobs I had was to design machinery to handle those slippery little burger patties and stack them into shipping cartons with waxed paper between the layers. Yup... spent lots of time in that factory watching those little buggers flop around on the conveyors! That was a past life. I like working on music instruments a whole lot better.

RE: White Castle vs Krystal.
I'll take Krystal any day. White Castles give me indigestion, and that's hard to do.

Where is White Castle from...WICHITA!
(so is Pizza Hut)
No MW dealer in California is somewhat of a good thing for those of us who do carry them, is it not?

There are none anywhere near Texas. I'm probably not missing out on much. We've got Whataburger down here anyway.

I second the five guys vote above.
We had Five Guys this weekend and my two year old daughter DEMOLISHED a hamburger. She holds the hamburger with her pinky fingers out. It's the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Re: 'splain to me, please
I was going to mention this. I tried In-n-Out about 5 years ago when in Cali and was completely underwhelmed. Maybe the build up from all the hype I'd heard was too much to live up to. I don't know. White Castle is novel, I mean tiny burger with onions on a roll, tasty-ish. So far none approach a burger from Whataburger. Not to mention that closest in size is still half the size of a Whataburger. In-n-Out actually use mayo on the burger. Yuck. Mustard is the only way to fly. lol.k001k47 wrote:There are none anywhere near Texas. I'm probably not missing out on much. We've got Whataburger down here anyway.

I hope "In 'n Out" refers to the restaurant and not the burgers....

Re: 'splain to me, please
In-N-Out was pretty "meh" by my experience. Seeing people compare White Caste to Five Guys, or anything else, is laughable. Five Guys sells burgers. White Castle sells....White Castle. It's a completely unique, and thoroughly addicting entity, all to its own. We have both here in NJ, and I am happy about that, even though the last time I went to either was about 6 months (and 60 lbs.) ago.
When I want a Burger (not the capital B), I head into Manhattan and go to Shake Shack. Blows everything else away.
