Would any of you care to thoughtfully guestimate the cost of dedenting the bottom bow of an old Besson BBb. The damage is shown below. [UPS strikes again  ]

Depending on the Tech... I would venture that this could set you back 250$ easily...They will have to disassemble the bottom bow, remove the the plate and the the guard wire and remove all dents, but the also have to either fix the wire or manufacture a new one...

Here are links from Dan Schultz's web page...

He quotes $250 as a minimum....

OUCH!

$250 might cover straightening things out but you would also need to add transportation costs both ways to a shop and also allow extra if refinishing is required.

UPS and FEDEX BOTH suck!

Bloke and BrSousa...I'm in the Tampa Bay area. Horn plays pretty darn well. It's a Besson 3V compensating fixed upright BBb. The horn has moderate denting on one of the interior pipes (next loop inside from the outer most loop) covering half the distance of the loop. Silver plate is very good throughout; but I do not mind if repairs take some of the plate off. I really am not so partial to that ball support thing on the bottom bow. Half of the bottom bow guard-rail is missing. The seller chipped in $150 to cover part of the bottom bow repair. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
