I suspect that's just about what "fat balls" were...and, of course, you knew that. Thanks for the link. Maybe Klaus (?) could translate it.

My very halting Swedish tells me that these things are made with grated potatoes, flour and filled with salt pork (i.e. pork fat) and then boiled. Served with lingonberry jam.
Swedes have some lovely food: Blodpalt-blood dumplings, Isterband - aged fat sausage....
None of that, however, can hold a candle to this stuff:
