a friend of mine recently broke his thumb because he had no growth plate in it (i have no idea what a growth plate is, im sorry) andways, im told he had no growth plates because of cronic cracking of his nuckles. i crack my nucles a little bit and was wondering to the advantages/disadvantages to cracking your nuckles, especially in your playing hand.

Not only do I crack my knuckles during every minuet, but also in the trio.

Are you sure he had no growth plates or did he have no K's?

The picture above does more than simply elicit a crack of my knuckles. That's all I'm going to say.
