Yesterday I attended the internment of a Army Staff Sargent in Arlington National Cemetery. He was the husband of a very good friend of my wife. Although I was not personally close to him I knew him well enough to be affected by his passing as though he were a family member. He was the same age as me (48) and was taken by a uncurable form of prostate cancer.
I was very moved by the ceremony. It brought me to tears. You can tell the people who make up these honor guards take great pride in what they do and accept nothing but excellence. It's good to know there's that kind of respect,dignity and honor given to our deceased military.
