There is nothing wrong with the speakers, the speakers are turned on, the computer is not muted, it will play Mid files fine, but not any Mp3's or youtube videos. Any help?

What operating system?

If a Windows machine, maybe check the volume controls through the Control Panel. Might be something like the WAV output is muted, though the master volume and midi output are not.

You don't mention what OS you're running, but try 'associating' mp3 files with Media player:

• 1 Open the folder containing the MP3 file you want to associate with Windows Media Player.
  2 Right-click the file and choose "Open With," followed by "Choose Default Program" from the drop-down menu.
  3 Select "Windows Media Player" then check the box next to "Always use the selected program to open this type of file."
  4 Click "OK." Windows Media Player is now associated with your MP3 file types.

I am already playing them with windows media player. I open them and the songs act like they're playing as if nothing is wrong, but there's no sound.

Try removing your WMP and then reloading from a the windows web site . You will need to know what OS you are using and what the current version of the WMP is . You may have some bad files in the program.

Try playing your MP3s with any other program. You may have to downlownd a freebie from the internet. You try using Audacity even though it's a music editor program. If they play through that them you know your sound card and speakers are ok and it is most likely your WMP.

Reload your audio driver or go look for an update to it . You may have some degraded files in it.

Can you hear the MP3s through your headphones ?
