I have a humidifier that has a Brushless DC motor in it. It is on its last leg.

The current motor model is Qiangli: QL5015MS

I cannot for the life of me find anything even remotely close to it to replace it with. It is 12v, .4a, variable speed.

Any ideas?

Is it noisy?
If you can identify what component is failing you may have more luck with replacing the component.
Or try googling the humidifier instead of the motor as suitable replacements may have been posted under that model designation.
A photo or size info may help with identification of replacement.
They should add a 4th R to Recycle,Reduce,Re-Use, Repair

Yeah, it was very noisy. It sounded like fingers on a chalk board.

I took it apart, went to the RC store today, found a bearing set that fit the fan spindle, and tacked it back in with jb weld. I then took high temp wheel bearing grease from a car repair I did, filled it full of a 12g syringe and injected it all over the entire moving assembly in the motor and into the bearing. SO FAR, it works like a dream.

I'm gonna bookmark this thread, because I imagine I'll be back, pictures in hand. It will probably fail, unless that JB Weld withstands the hype.

I found your note regarding the Qiangli motor fan from a humidifier. I suspect we have similar humidifiers (mine is a Crane) as I'm having a similar issue with mine with the exact same part.

My questions were:
- How do you disassemble the fan (I've gotten the fan out of the case, but don't see an easy was to disassemble)
- What bearing set did you use
- Where does the bearing go (without seeing inside it's not clear to me where it would fit)
- Is your fix still working?

In the meantime, I've injected oil into the motor and spindle assembly as best I could, and that has helped, but I'm looking for a more permanent solution.

Why not take it to an electrician who can repair it? Lots of electricians "re-wind" small motors like that very successfully and for a modest cost.
