24. If you are conservative, went to a prep school and work in management then you don't have the Blues.

You have the Reds.

I once got asked how I am able to play the blues so well. Without a hestitation, I immediately replied, "Getting divorced from my first wife...and marrying my second." It brought the house down. Since I play bass, whether upright, electric or tuba, they call me "Scotty the Mole."

Sometimes, I get down slow.
Sometimes, I get down slow.
'Cause my baby,
She done me low.

Sometimes, I get down fast.
Sometimes, I get down fast.
'Cause my baby,
She done me last.

(harmonica solo)

Sometimes, I get down short.
Sometimes, I get down short.
'Cause my baby, well, you know....

(second solo)

Sometimes, I get down long.
Sometimes, I get down long.
'Cause my baby,
SHE DONE ME WRONG.

(heavy solo, repeat and out.)

Thanks. A couple of decades ago, I actually got to see Yul Brenner in his last revival of "The King and I" in London. Absolutely magnificent.

I also got the nickname because I'm no stranger to getting to the crawlspace under the houses I've lived in to patch cracks, re-do drain lines that were not secure, redo heating/AC ducts, add insulation, and most recently, replumbing leaky garden hydrants that were supposed to be "freeze-proof." Ha! One of them was cemented in to the brick facing, so it took me eight hours to clear both the front and back hydrants, cut them out, fit the new ones, sweat the joints, and secure everything back to code standards. When I came back in from the garage, I didn't even bother to dump my work clothes into the washing machine. Instead, they went straight into the trash dumpster from all the clay mud from the leaking water making a mess in the crawl space. Now, if that's not "blues" work, nothin' else is.

'Cause my baby, She done me court.
'Cause my baby, She done me fort.
'Cause my baby, She done me Mort.
'Cause my baby, She done me port.
'Cause my baby, She done me sort.
'Cause my baby, She done me tort.
'Cause my baby, She done me wart.
'Cause my baby, She done me abort.
'Cause my baby, She done me snort.
'Cause my baby, She done me sport.
'Cause my baby, She done me retort.
'Cause my baby, She done me contort.
'Cause my baby, She done me support.
'Cause my baby, She done me Voldemort.

I don't like any of these choices. I got the rhymin' blues.

It's Okay. Do you have Skype? We'll connect, jam, and work it out. The best thing for the blues is to jam it out. Thanks for your post.
