I just returned home from spending the weekend (and about $400) playing in The North American Brass Band Association competition. We took home a 1st place in division 3. No pay but a lot of fun.

Monday evening I have a gig with The Rhein Valley Brass for some sort of 'cultural exchange' program. I'll spend a hour getting my lederhosen and stuff together, driving to Evansville, playing for maybe 30 minutes, loading up and coming back home for maybe $40 plus supper. I'm not exactly getting rich like this but I'm having a hell of a lot of fun!

Keeps me out of the strip joints!
