My grandmother had one of these heirloom shurbs in her yard. These smell absolutely wonderful. That's why I planted 4. You can't kill 'em. Prune all you want. They are evergreen too.

I don't recall the term bee bushes, but it fits. Although my honey bees seem to prefer the white salvia on the other side of the yard. The bumble bees prefer this abelia, as do the butterflies. 3 of my bushes are in the front yard about 25 feet NW of the front door. Every morning when I take the dog out I have to stop on the front step and soak in the smell. It's really nice. Blooms all summer and leaves for 4 seasons.
