Best Journey song ever.

Post by oldbandnerd »

This topic is definitely open for discussion as personal tastes will vary.

For me it has to be "La Do Da" together with " Patiently" from their Infinity album.

"Faithfully" is also pretty underrated. Steve Perry sounds pretty incredible in this one.

"Wheel in the Sky".......... and is Journey still around? Been a long time since I've heard them on any besides the local classic-rock station........

Yes,Journey is still touring. Unfortunatly without Steve Perry. It has something to do with him breaking his hip and having a hip replacement.
Here is Journey's web page with their current concert schedule : http://www.journeymusic.com/pages/tour" target="_blank

Touring with Pat Benatar and Loverboy...... talk about an Eighties blast-from-the-past.......... I saw both of them then, but not Journey. Good concerts, but couldn't hold a candle to Bruce Springsteen's.

Trivia question: Pat Benatar's musical career started before she switched to rock. What kind of music did she sing previously?

Escape!...

You guys make me feel old... picked up my first Journey record in '78 and have all Journey has released.

Steve Perry left the band in '96 - he was their third lead singer. Steve Augeri was an excellent replacement and sang on three albums but left with vocal issues in 2005.

They still put on a great show with Arnel Pineda - one of the few rock bands to play relatively in tune - without tracks. They also have some fun opening acts - saw them in '02 with Peter Frampton opening and this year with Night Ranger and Foreigner.

Still not trading in my symphony tickets... Mahler 8 in September

Originally she wanted to sing opera, but wound up singing show tunes before switching to rock. You can hear this style on her first album.
