Has anyone made the jump to Windows 8 yet? If so, what do you think of it?

I'm not a big computer guy, but I AM interested in Windows tablets. I think Microsoft has something coming out.

I made the $40 upgrade today. Its nice, and I like it a lot. Its still mostly like Windows 7, but just a little different. The tiles are clear and concise, and save time for checking up on things.
Best of all, it is really, really fast. A cold startup takes only 10 seconds!

I presume that going backwards to 7 is impossible if you upgrade to 8?
My brother is a microsoft software engineer and he was all enthusiastic about W8, but when I just asked him today about the differences he said that from my point of view (non-sophisticated user) the difference would be the disappearance of the start menu. Previously he had been all for the upgrade for me until I told him I'm having enough trouble with W7 (previous experience was XP.)

Wait for the "Pro" version coming out in the spring. Finally a tablet that will do EVERYTHING a desktop/laptop will do. In the meantime, skip RT.
FWIW, I installed a consumer preview of Windows 8 on my oldest son's laptop a few months ago. He uses it daily and has had zero problems or compatibility issues.
