It's pretty hard to say without looking at the horn. If you are wondering if it would be worth having it fixed, take it into a repair shop and have them have a quick look at it. Bloke's estimate is as good as any anyone could give without looking at it.

I don't know what miner dents are, but with all the explosives and heavy equipment used in mines, I'm sure those will be expensive to fix...

We need some pictures. I'm a little concerned by needing to "have a bottom cap put back on". If you are talking about the bottom cap on the valve casing.... are the threads 'banged up' to the point where the cap won't go on? .... or is it missing altogether? ..... or both?dmeacham5 wrote:I have a 1929 conn trumpet i want to get chem flushed and a few really miner dents removed a bottom cap put on and a brace soldered back on, and probably the valves re a lined any idea how much this would cost?
I seldom even fool with old trumpets/cornets unless they are 'something special'.

Take the bus. Talk a parent into taking you there. Pay an older friend's gas and lunch and have him drive you there. Strap it onto your bike and ride there. Mail/USPS it there. Sometime repair companies 'make the rounds' of the schools giving estimates and doing minor repairs. A music company shows up at my school with a trailer full of tools and parts and has 'fix it day' two or three times a year. They could give you an estimate and maybe do some of the work "while you wait".dmeacham5 wrote:actually there is not a "local" place the nearest place that could possibly give me an estimate is like 45 minuteness away, seeing I am only 16 i cant just drive there.
How bad do you want it?
