Hello,
I'm new to the group, and wanted to intruduce myself. I'm a retired Army Reserve Bandsman whose main instrument is Euphonium, but I also play Trombone, Piano, and Bass guitar. Over the years I've played with a community Concert band, a couple of different fire department bands, Stage bands, and even a rock band, I play in church regularly, and sing in the Church Choir. I'm Currently giving Tuba a try since the Fire Department Band I'm currently playing with has had a couple of recent gigs where we had two Euphoniums but no Tuba, so I thought it might be a good idea for me to try doubling on the Tuba as well. I've picked up a relatively inexpensive recently rebuilt but ugly YBB-321 to learn on at home, and have access to a Sousaphone belonging to the Firedepartment for parades. I'll see how I take to the Tuba but so far I'm making good progress and having a lot of fun.
My main reason for being here now is to get some pointers on doubling between Euphonium and Tuba, and to get some tips also on what models to try out, and things to look for when I'm ready to upgrade from my current starter instrument.
