Hi all, I have a question "TubeNeters" haha what are the rubber rings you sometimes see on CC tubas or sometimes Bb tubas..... I've even seen them on an F but I need to know the name of them so I can get some because my CC tuba slides are sometimes hitting the end to hard so with that, If I know the name of this lovely product lol it would be much appreciated! Please let me know.

much grace and Happy New Year,

Matt

It is desireable to shorten the outer legs of the 1st valve circuit anyway, say @ 1/2 to 5/8 inch, so that the slide can be pushed for 5th partial C on a BBb tuba & D on a CC tuba.

Matt Walters put these on the first valve slide of my King 2341 as part of prepping it when I bought it. They look like regular rubber O rings, but you could give him a call and ask. They do at times tend to ride up over the outer part of the slide if I am too aggressive in pushing it back in, but overall accomplish their goal of reducing the noise from moving the slide back in.

That would be cool, Bloke, for someone who really goes at it. I don't slam the slide home hard enough to really need something to create an absolute soft stop. #13 round o-rings muffle the impact, such as it is, enough to keep the horn from amplifying a "donk" sound when I push 1 or 4 in all the way. Good enough is good enough, in this case.
