I'm thinking about buying a used Holton BB460 Collegiate BBb 4 Valve Tuba but the inserts for the valve caps are missing on 3 of the valves. Does anyone know where they can be obtained?
The missing valve cap insets make the valve s feel ackward to play.
Thanks

Am I right to assume you are talking the valve *buttons* rather than the cap which holds the entire valve in the casing?cultonc wrote:I'm thinking about buying a used Holton BB460 Collegiate BBb 4 Valve Tuba but the inserts for the valve caps are missing on 3 of the valves. If so, any music store that has access to a parts catalog (either for Holton or Allied) should be able to order what you want. Maybe even match the new ones to what you have. You could order them over the phone from one of the TubeNet sponsors if there is no music store within reasonable distance.
If you are the do-it-yourself type, you could make the inserts yourself. I've always thought that an easy to work stone like jade or turquoise would make a nice insert. (Make four)

Conn-Selmer has those parts... assuming you are talking about 'fingerbutton pearls'. The part number is RBB460R09 PEARL - FINGER BUTTON. Any music store should be able to order them for you. They are very inexpensive and your dealer might want to charge you a 'minimum order' amount unless you are willing to wait for them to generate a larger order.
