I saw that on the news last night. I had a gater show up in my pond last year. Twas a 7 ft'er.

I'm rooting for the Gators.

Wow, those gators are big. But, Glenn is an animal lover. He'd never make a tuba bag out of alligator hide.

Oh, we have to compare notes sometime. The best place I've found down here for the gator bites (actually the tail meat) is called Rustic Inn and they do the best fried clams I've ever eaten. Even better than HoJo back in the day. Count on my attendance the next time I'm around A2.

A variety of rationalizations are available for those in need.

- Cows are never raised for leather, it's a by-product that would have to be disposed of in some way. Maybe they wait for them to die of old age. (The money from sale of hides does help support the cow concentration camps, though, and the tanning process is a significant toxic waste problem.)

- Alligators eat animals, so they get what they deserve.

There are around 60 licensed alligator farms in Florida. An alligator brings in around $200, I assume that's prior to any processing.

Good grief, even the mayor of Dallas is a Democrat. After that I quit looking for an example of a mayor who wasn't.

Indeed there are poor people in Seattle, but sadly there are also poor people in the state's rural areas in even greater proportions. Don't know the geography elsewhere well enough to comment, and anyway the data seems to be missing for a lot of counties in the south.

I have eaten at this place a few times. They quite literally have some of the world's best catfish, even though they are not known outside the South Georgia region. I have also had their gator a couple of times. For all you old farts, it reminds me a little of the original Chicken McNuggets when they first came out and had every part of the chicken ground up and nuggetized. As they are actually built on an old mill pond, there are a number of gators that live in the surrounding area. My former father-in-law once held my infant daughter directly over a large gator so she could get a better look

If you are ever in the area (Valdosta State U, Moody Airforce Base) I would encourage you to take a trip out into the country and go there. It was often the only "bribe" that could get me to visit that region.
