Might be a double-cup model, but the pic isn't good enough to say for sure.......

I don't see a double cup, at all. I think that's just what a "bowl" profile cup looks like, when it has been polished up really well. (Which is rare, eh? All my mouthpieces are a bit rough inside.)

The interesting thing is, to me, this suggests that there's some tuba action there in Brazil, that's a little more just the basic military band, orchestra etc. Like the Mexican banda thing, for example. (Though not much like it, would be my guess.) This isn't just a one-off, it's a mouthpiece maker or representative thereof, selling ornate, expensive "pro" tuba mouthpieces.

I didn't get that from what I saw. Location was Rio de Janeiro (if I remember from looking into it a week or two ago), where Weril - and other smaller instrument makers - were in the suburbs or outlying towns north of São Paulo.

Video of the mouthpiece lathe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkbswithIfI. (There's another one out there with some of the same footage at normal speed, but without the nice chorinho background music.)
