Laptop battery

I have a 3-year old HP laptop, and the battery is shot. I want to replace the battery, but buying it direct from HP will cost me about $150 after shipping and taxes, and that just seems like too much.

I've tried buying batteries on eBay and Amazon before, but with mixed results (received duds or batteries that only last 1 year or so).

Any decent and reliable sources for laptop batteries out there? There are a TON of options, so I can't tell easily on my own which is the best.

Any thoughts?

I've been pleased with the replacement Macbook Pro batteries I've bought from this outfit (link is to HP battery page). I'm getting 700-800 charge cycles out of the batteries before they drop to 80% of original capacity, and ~1000 cycles before they hit 50%, which is on par with what I got from the original Apple battery.

At work, if we ever need replacement batteries we go to Batteries Plus. We can usually get the batteries with extra cells for the same or less than OEM regular batteries.

Thanks guys... for right now, I might just try to be cheap and keep it plugged in all the time. Probably 90% of the stuff I do on the couch on my computer can be done on a tablet anyway...
