How do I tell if my deep cycle battery is a wet cell or a gel cell?

There is nothing written on the battery that tells me this one way or the other. I need to know so I can put it on my recharger. I am certain it's not a AGM cell.

Thanks Schleppo. I forgot to remove the positive lead on the battery when I put my travel trailer. In storage in Sept. . I'm pretty sure I've destroyed it . I tested only 3 volts left in it.
Would it be worth the extra cost to go to a gel cell or a AGM type battery ?

Thanks for this article. Very informative. After reading it made me wonder if the converter on my travel trailer will properly charge a Gel Cell or AGM type battery. I think I'll just stick to the old wet cell type .
