The Garmin Dashcam 10 seems to be the best reviewed of those three on Amazon.com. The Garmin Dashcam 20 has GPS, which isn't absolutely essential, but does help nail down the video's when and where.schlepporello wrote:...

My Lukas ACE 7900 is Korean made and tolerates temperature extremes, but it isn't cheap. I have it mounted beneath my rear view mirror with the cord hidden in the window and dash trim down to the 12V socket at the bottom of my CRV's dashboard. It's almost invisible unless you already know it's there. It's got lots of options for recording including speed, which helps provide an incentive to stay close to posted speed limits. The built-in microphone records ongoing in-car sounds, so my videos have a nice soundtrack of the music I was listening to at the time.
Knock on wood, but I haven't needed to refer to it yet. It's just a relatively inexpensive insurance policy. Installation of a polarizing filter required a small inexpensive (~$20) monitor and cable, but it's worth it for the vastly reduced glare.
