Stupid HP Printer!

Well... maybe the printer is just smarter than I am!

I have an all-in-one HP 3050 printer that insists on asking me to print an alignment page. This might work except I never replace the color cartridge because I always keep the machine configured for 'black cartridge only'. This annoyance can be overlooked by just ignoring the prompt before it prints.

However... the 'copy' function cannot be accessed because the screen on the printer is always occupied with the message "Load plain white paper and press OK" because it wants to print a page to scan for alignment.

There doesn't appear to be a workaround in the driver display to get rid of the message. I occasionally want to make a copy of something. I could just scan the document manually to make a copy but this is a pain in the ***!

Any ideas?

Try removing the paper, having it attempt to align & failing, then simply cancel the entire process.

I tried that. I tried one more thing... simply removing the color cartridge seems to be the fix.
