Re: going down with the ship
I attended a local rock festival back in the '70s, where rain and trampling made for some deep mud particularly near the stage. There was some mud dancing going on, but unfortunately the mud had some broken glass in it as well. At least Ripple bottles tended to break up into a few pieces rather than thousands, but the down side is that you can get a pretty deep cut. It occurs to me you're likely talking about a somewhat different kind of band festival, but yeah - good old days!nworbekim wrote:I was reminded of several band festivals/contests where it had rained and the midfield front sideline became shin deep in mud. Kids marching out of their shoes.
Good old days, right?

We had less than ¼ inch rain in June, and none to speak of so far in July. Now we're headed into the part of summer that's usually dry. Forest fires are already starting up, a group of them in the dry interior has burned 35 square miles. 55% contained as of this morning.
