tuba bathing

I am new here, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me; I have a ROTARY tuba, a 1969 Mirafone, who needs a bath! I have been able to find several places that tell how to bathe a PISTON tuba, but, what about my rotary valves? do I need to disassemble them? I don't want to, but I guess I could..., but there is no felt, that I see, only rubber. Will putting the whole horn, with slides sepparated, into to warm bath be safe?
