Stars and Stripes on Chinese TV!

I am currently in China and one of the things I do like over here is a couple TV channels devoted to music, and a lot of it classical, or bands.

When I arrived, the first evening I relaxed to a full performance of Wagner Meistersinger from Beijing music festival. Today watched amongst others a Japanese marching band (surprisingly musical!) and just now performances of Sousa's Liberty Bell and Stars and Stripes played by the President's Own Band.

And if you wonder why I am just sitting around watching TV, this week is holiday and next week business, quality assuring another new order - and evaluating two completely new models of tubas (very exciting!). Both original Wessex designs and not clones! If they have worked out as intended you will hear more later...

Jonathan, enjoy your trip. While there, would you consider exploring the availability of a C bass trumpet with four rotors? A clone of the Alexander C bass trumpet might be a pretty good seller.

C bass trumpet with 4 rotary valves is on my shortlist of instruments I would like to add to the Wessex range. I am on the look-out for suitable example to borrow or buy to use as design basis.
