What to do...

Post by Tubadan »

There were a few posts a while back on what to do when you get burned out of playing tuba. My situation is somewhat similar. I am currently in my 6th semester of college and I am just totally burned out. I am a music education major, and I love teaching tuba lessons. I am one of the few people who can say that I love going to work. Anyways, back to school. The classes aren't really hard, they are just not geared toward the part of music I am interested in. It's only a 4 day week this week (good friday,) and I just got back from spring break and I already feel that I could use another spring break. I have a field experience assignment in a 2A high school with a terrible director and absolutely loathe going there and watching this guy. I have 4 hour music history assignments that are so boring. I guess I should say that the music program I am a part of at school is geared toward vocal music. That doesn't help much with my situation either. I am ready to graduate and pick up a few more students to teach and I have a list of classes for finishing my degree on my wall and I am just waiting to cross them off. But for now I am stuck here wishing I wasn't in class... Is there a cure for this?
