Flushed it out of this Mahillon 390. It was stuck right at the inlet of the bottom bow:
I'm sure this happens rather frequently but could not find a thread on it. Anyone else have something similar to share?

Other than the 'normal' things like popcorn, chewing gum, and candy wrappers.... I've also found other 'interesting' stuff in the bows of tubas and sousaphones.

- 1983 TubaChristmas button stuck in the back bow of a Miraphone 183 that was hanging inside like a stovepipe damper.
- various bottles of valve oil.
- a dead sparrow.
- several mice and rats.
- a drum key.
- a brassier.
- ball caps.
- a golf ball.

Must be an interesting story behind #6............

Thanks, Joe. It came with a real nice gig bag too. I believe Howard Johnson played one of these before he went to Meinl-Weston.

This will be my "small tuba" once it gets the professional attention it needs.

This one still has the hand rest, with a thumb ring soldered onto the left end. Nice touch. I'd seen the top slide in the 4th valve loop, figured it was for cleaning-out but your explanation makes just as much sense. Thanks.

This horn is quite agile, even with the damaged bell and leaky water keys. Having seen some video of Mr. Johnson playing his Mahillon, this doesn't surprise me.

Now to get it serviced.

So far we have various articles of clothing and food, toys, dead animals, mutes, valve oil, TubaChristmas buttons.......... any other good ones?
