Howdy guys, hope everyone has been great!
Might need some input from the tuba experts of this forum yet again...
I'm looking to fix up (re-plate) the valves on my tuba. They are quite worn out. I'm not in the United States in studying outside the country so I was looking for people who maybe silver plated in this country...
I came across this shop that silver plates instruments with a "factory finish" they look amazing... But I saw a video of them explaining how they do it. I saw the submerge the whole valve section of a valve trombone indifferent cleaners THEN they dipped the whole thing in this special tub and they pulled it out silver plated.
Now I'm no expert Byron pretty sure you aren't suppose to silver plate the inside of an instrument.
What would this do to my valve section and sound of the overall tuba??
Could I use a stripper(not the dancers) to deplete the inside of the instrument, and would this affect or damage the metal??
Thank you guys very much.

Re: Silver plating.... the inside of your tuba?
Interesting question. There was a thread about valve refurbishment a few weeks ago . The photos I have seen of instrument going into the tanks had plugs in the end.
