For some reason, I have thought that Schiller instruments were made in China exclusively by JinBao. My five purchases of various Schiller instruments always have been pleasant surprises in terms of quality sound, intonation, and construction. The latest purchase, a Schiller .547 tenor trombone with F attachment is likewise a real winner. But, in unpacking the horn, inside the case was some wadded newspaper used as padding which was printed in a Cyrillic language. I wonder what shop made this horn----I don't think the Chinese read eastern European newspapers in Cyrillic. Maybe I have a fine quality Bulgarian horn? LOL Talk about a global economy.

The entire northern border of China is with countries who use Cyrillic alphabets.Might have something to do with that...?

I agree though... it must have been pretty strange to come across it like that!
By the way, I had kind of forgotten about the name Schiller, since the talk on the board here is largely dominated by Wessex and Mack. I'm happy for you that it worked out to be such a good instrument!
