Or, I could say that I have the same number of tubas as wives. I think your life would be *pretty* complicated if that were true for you.

Well there was 20, but Tinker has most of them now. My wife is much happier. Can't speak for Dan though. There are still about 150 miscellanesous cornets, horns etc in the garage. Brenda would even be happier if a cloud came over us and they all disappeared. Kinda like a 'Tuba Passover.' I have 2 (soon to be 3) playable tubas and 4 antiques. (OK, 2 euphs and a bass trombone too) Not sure if the cimbasso counts. I got a dirty look when it arrived, so it should count for something. Brenda has 2 oboes, an english horn and an accordion. Child's play.
They all fit under her desk.

My stable varies over time, but manages to grow overall:

Currently there are eight tubas, eight french horns and six contrabass clarinets (3 each BBb and EEb), all professional level instruments. These are the three instrument families I play regularly in ensembles. There are many other instruments that I play less frequently....

I can only pull this off because my wife makes jewelry and her collection of beads and jewelry parts has grown at the same pace....

Fair enough! Seriously, I don't mind the accordion, even though I don't seek it out. And I have a LOT of respect for people who can play the accordion. About 90% of my playing happens with 4 fingers and sitting still. I couldn't handle using all 10, plus moving my arms all around.

Well I only have 2 Tubas, 1 sousaphone, and 1 Euphonium. My wife has been fairly tolerant because I also own 3 Tenor Trombones, 1 Bass Trombone, Bass guitar, several Keyboards, and 2 acoustic guitars.

I believe that by the indicated criteria, I clearly have the highest rated spouse of the list members (but then she's my top rated, regardless of how many tubas there are in the house). Though that number, in combination with her accumulated days at tuba conferences/events, does warrant some level of sainthood ranking for her.

I've only got one "nice" horn, my BBb frankentuba. I've got a semi-usable Eb horn that I repaired on my own for practice. My wife is good about letting me spend my own money on tuba-related stuff.
