Ah, no idea who Tony Kniffen would be, but never mind, they're like mine!

I just look over the top of them, for close distance. I have become a little more self-conscious after seeing what my trumpet player friend looks like when he does that. But I like having a fairly full corrected field of view. Not looking forward to bifocals, though I guess it beats the alternative (of not living that long, that is.)

Let us know if you find that you trip over stuff more often. My distance correction, counting the astigmatism, is pretty strong, so probably not for me.

I had a pair like that about 10 years ago, and they were good, but not great. Why do I say this? Because the small plastic "fishing line" style wire that holds the lens in place on the bottom would break, after they would get bonked too hard. Kind of a pain, but you are resourceful and can probably fix it yourself.

Added bonus, they are much lighter. I agree, looking under the glasses is convenient!

Well, I wear trifocals now, and I do use my Mighty Bright stand light much more.....

You can get a pair of Bifocals with plain glass (little to no magnification) in the bottom and your distance prescription in the top.
