This wheel seems to be made of carborundum, so I don't think there's much of a shattering risk.

I've used it many times to successfully cut slides while still on the horn. I find that it does not make the cleanest of cuts, but it's close enough that I can dress it down with a file.

The smaller one is worn down from use.

Look up Enkay saw blades. They make a three piece set with 1/2" and 5/8" blades with a mandrel, part no. 383-C. They have lots of different blades, just a little harder to find. Some hobby shops, surplus stores or on line seem to be the best places to find them.

Looks like the ticket....

(I wish I had a lathe....I'm hoping someday to find a nice South Bend #9 Junior, or something similar....someday.....)
