Portable music stand

I am in need of a couple of good music stands. I direct a community band, and my wife is one of the trombone players and I'd like to replace her crappy wire stand, plus I seem to have left my Manhasset somewhere and it seems to have disappeared :x Stability (especially as mine will be set for flat viewing of the scores) and cost are the biggest priorities, while realizing the two don't necessarily go hand in hand.

For Sara you should get the K&G 10056 heavy duty in black or other colors. It is strong, portable and has lasted me for years. For your more director duties consider the Peak stand. I think the model is SM-20. I'll have the K&G stand on Saturday. Mary Beth has the Peak stand. You can look at it at the next Postal Band event.

Another vote for Manhasset Voyager.

I just stumbled on this video showing the top 10 music stands (although some are not portable).

Are you a band director? I don't know any band director who ever purchased a music stand. Just sayin'!

This one works great as long as you don't over tighten the adjusting screws:

I bought these for my quintet several years ago and they are still going strong. I caught them on sale for $14.95 each delivered.

I will throw my vote in for the Peak as well. Best folding stand I've ever owned. Since I've bought mine, at least 4 friends of mine have also bought one. They all love it as well.

I've used a relatively high quality K&M that comes in various colors, a wire stand that folds up very compact. It was a good little stand. The Voyager can take a bigger book and stand fairly tall.
