I'm told that in other parts of the country, people have good reason to take a chance of rain seriously,. I don't particularly care to go out in the rain here, either, and it can rain for weeks, but it's quite rare to see a heavy rain. A wool jacket might serve OK for a 15 minute walk, for example. Locals typically do not own umbrellas. Lightning is very rare, tornadoes non-existant. If there has been some recent influx of people from areas like this, a brief discussion might indeed be in order.

Hey - how about these final words of investment wisdom during a finance segment on the local 10 PM newscast:

"And remember viewers that in order to invest in certificates of deposit at the bank you will need to have some money of your own."

Bloody brilliant reporting!

Heh. I signed up for texts through Ad Hoc for the navy from official channels. I literally received a text every time it rained. Like the navy would text me in all caps: HEAVY RAIN FROM 1300-2100 EXPECTED and it would already be like 830pm.

Thanks, Navy People.

Except that sometimes they do. I just got something that did not have a stamp on it, but said that very thing in the space to put the stamp,

And then there was once in the last minute mailing of my tax return, I am certain I did not get postage on it. It never got returned to me, so I guess they got it.

I mentioned taxes. That could be a trigger.

Well I think it's a damn shame that all those candidates for the Darwin award got info that may enable them to avoid it.
