Metal etching

Greetings,

It's hard to believe, but my 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up this summer. Apparently, the gift for that is aluminum (I don't know who comes up with those, but that's beside the point). I got a little piece of scrap aluminum I wanted to do something with and I was thinking about etching it somehow. I'm not sure what to etch on it at this point, but I was wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this and how easy it would be to do on my own. I've done a brief google search and it looks like it can be done at home with certain acids and things.

Just curious if anyone has experience in this and has any pointers to share. Thanks!

I told my wife I was switching to drink only beer in aluminum cans, for her, you know, for my health, you know, so she wouldn't be a young widow!!

She said, "that makes no sense whatsoever!!"

I says, "Well, it's too late now I can't bring this stuff back..."

So far so good... :|

Hey there,

If I remember correctly, you're really good with model airplanes. I ran across this:

lots of good ideas, and it is the correct material.
