Hoping none of my collection takes flight with Irma heading this way. Anyone else in the same boat?

I have to be at the hospital during the storm. Luckily my family goes with me so we should be safe. House is boarded up. Just hope the roof stays on.

Here in the southwest desert, we, um, do not get a lot of hurricanes. Although we can get some pretty spectacular microbursts and flash floods.
I figured if I had to leave stuff behind upon evacuation, I"d want to suspend as much of it from the ceiling as I could, and fix the ceiling later. So if I had four feet of water in the house and managed to suspend my most valuable stuff from the ceiling, I'd lose a whole lot less. If it fits on the floor, it should be able to fit on the ceiling. That old ratty sofa you want to replace anyway, you can leave on the floor and let the insurance buy you a new one.

Luckily all low brass stayed on the ground. House was fine. Wish I could say the same for fence and tree. Irma, what a b%$×@.
