Best work knife (for under $10.00) ever.

Post by oldbandnerd »

Morakniv Basic 511 carbon steel fixed blade knife. I’ve been using this for months now and am shocked at how such an inexpensive knife holds up to so much abuse. It comes very sharp, holds an edge well and sharpens easily. It is a scandi grind edge which helps make it easier to sharpen. The holster is a one piece molded plastic and has great retention.
My only issue with it is the carbon steel. I work around some very caustic chemicals and they can be hard on it. I don’t care so much about the finish but the edge can be eaten away if I don’t wash it off after I use it. I have little holes eaten out of edge in 2 different spots.
