Full confession here...

My wife and I love to cook, and frankly, we are very good at it.

We are going to her parents house for Thanksgiving.

Because of our expectations of Thursday's meal, we made a full Thanksgiving dinner for ourselves last Saturday.

So once the 3 days of leftovers end, it'll be time for the actual Thanksgiving dinner. At least on Thursday, there will be enough kids around to be a good distraction/excuse. :)

Texas Hunter home traditional Thanksgiving here. I will be smoking ribs tomorrow. Potato salad, beans and yes my BBQ sauce is home made. Meat falls off the ribs.

Taco night is always turkey so that doesn't count...

Back home, the Bobby sandwich is turkey dinner on a bun.

Even Wawa makes one!!

Yes.

In the past week my wife has baked, boned, and frozen 3 turkeys (we have 9 family members coming over tomorrow, and 36 family members coming over for Christmas), and I've baked, boned, sliced, and frozen 2 large bone-in hams (for Christmas in both MN and WI). We both nibble as we work, so...yeah. No yams, pies, lefse, or MN Lutheran Church pot-luck tater-tot/hamburger/green bean/dried onion 'hot dish' yet, tho.

PS. For leftovers, try your ham or turkey rolled up in lefse. It's a MN Norwegian taco delight.

Even on another continent, I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving with some family friends I hadn’t seen in over ten years. Who knew we’d meet up again in Germany after all these years.

I have two cornish hens boiling in the soup pot. Much easier for the way I eat, and cook faster than in the oven. Will be boned, divided into portions, and frozen for future use. The rest, already in the freezer. Quiet day for me.

Nothing more wonderful smelling than a turkey being roasted in the oven ( and then the rolls, Dutch apple pie, etc :D )....and pretty darn tasty too!!

Our local grocery store/deli carries really good prepared meats; and my family and I, by consensus, have decided that we have roasted our last turkey. So, from here on out, Kretschmar will be roasting the turkey for us.
