Musicians in the credits

Watching the new Star Wars movie credits again makes me wonder why the musicians aren't listed in the credits. I mean, the catering van driver is listed. Did he really contribute more to the movie than the horn section?

Translation: posting the orchestra roster (err...at least the low brass) in Last Jedi would be of interest here.

Sure. And because the musicians have roles nearly equal to that if the actors themselves... Not just interested in the low brass. Musicians deserve credit and should be in the credits. At least as much credit as the#3 set sweat rag boy.

Well, quite often orchestra members aren't even listed on CDs of orchestra music! There's nothing else going on: no acting, video, etc. Absolutely NO reason not to list the main attraction...

My guess is because it would just add even more length to the already-long credits. Another 80-100 people to list sounds like a lot. I agree, the catering van driver seems ridiculous to include, but that does sound like an important job.

I think that, in the past, a deal was made that musicians would receive residuals in exchange for not being credited. I may be wrong and I hope one of the L.A. guys will correct me if I am. More money is better.

I'd bet that none of them care about recognition at this time.
Most of us wouldn't be interested in the musicians' names in order to bestow recognition, but to be able to place a name to the sound we just heard.

Thank you, this was great. I'm glad I'm not the only person that has wondered about this...
