My tubas are always altered. Just not genetically...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Some of my tubas are so old, GMO was not invented when they were born.

Once every few years I have my tuba cleaned professionally to make sure there is no internal residue of anything trying to GMO the tuba.
