If was I was professional musician that belonged to a union I'd insist on it.Donn wrote:I don't see why the orchestras don't just decide what kind of tuba they want, and buy it. Then they can hire someone as needed to play it.
Or find some rich old broad to buy one for me!!

Unless it was an incorrect post, I believe an individual has been invited to play a week with the orchestra (after the audition process), so the process is still fluid....

So....
So you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
So you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.

Indeed. So was "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," and the portrayal of Pink with his eyebrows shaved in The Wall, which is a reference to the one time Syd Barrett showed up at Abbey Road Studios, ironically during the final mix of "Shine On...," having shaved his hair and eyebrows, the last time most of the band saw him.Heavy_Metal wrote:Pink Floyd's tribute to Syd Barrett.
