I'm never going outside again.

Well, at least chiggers don't carry incurable diseases, in the US and temperate zones in general. Ticks are scarier in that respect, and a very creepy sight as well.

One way that works is that when you are in chigger infested grasses and such, go inside after and take a blth with a glug of bleach in the water. That way the things don't stay and make the itching start.

Well, chiggers are red and the nymph stage of ticks, which do all the damage basically immediately, are black. Both about the same size. I have never understood why all the pictures of ticks related to the dangers of Lyme disease show the adults, when it is the nymphs that are the problem. You can hardly even SEE the nymphs, while they are going about trying to kill you slowly.
