Why did you specify liquid bleach? Is there solid bleach?

Public service announcement, not really having anything to do with tubas:

Classic bleach, a solution of sodium hypochlorite, can release chlorine gas when mixed with acids. I don't think it particularly matters whether it's muriatic (hydrochloric) acid, and in any case the volume of chlorine produced may not be a really big deal, but as it is one of the original chemical weapons and certainly not a wholesome thing to breathe, we prefer not to do that.

Maybe a more important thing to remember, don't mix bleach with ammonia, as that also produces a poisonous gas, chloramine.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled antics.
